Fix: A/C High Side fitting replacement
This is the SECOND time it's leaked and it leaks from that ball valve/aeroquip setup that Ford apparently loves. It's a horrible design and are used on almost no other vehicles.
I found a wonderful solution. NAPA part# 7305607. It's a high side schrader core fitting. It's supposedly for GM only. Thread size and pitch matches up. This way, should anything happen , I can swap the core. BUT I don't think it will be happening because schraders are way more reliable than this ball valve junk.
I started digging around in there with my Schrader valve tool and my bad eyes and finally figured out it was a ball.
Just like you probably, all the other parts stores in town have no clue or listing for this. Got a Ford part number for the original. Then found your thread.
Called around with it the NAPA part number since Napa wasn't open today. Other stores gave me a Murray number and another brand name. Ended up ordering them from AutoZone. Comes as a kid both high and low side.
I'm just going to change out the low side Schrader valve in the housing that's already there and then swap the high side assembly.
No more check ball!
