Those of you down in Texas are in a world of hurt of Biblical proportion. I'm sure there is a lot to do rather than play on your computer, however, any reports and pics of how our members are doing is appreciated. It's a good thing you have big trucks, you're going to need them.
My prayers are with you all. Even the kids are praying.
I'm sure there are others who will add theirs as well.
I hope y'all are staying' safe, high, and dry. We're stayin' in touch with my sister-in-law near Austin; she'll likely be cut off for a day or so due to local flooding.

Er.. ah.. um.. maybe not. The local TV weather guys read what NWS said about the coast and are quoting that enough to scare the local politricians into being concerned about 20 inches of rain 150 miles from the coast. Oh, that is about 75 miles closer to the coast than your sister.
NWS estimates for this area (and Austin) look to be 6 to 8 inches. Just checked to make sure NWS did not update.
I am looking for fuel economy numbers, where should I go?

I always enjoy watching the clowns on the weather channel. Drama queens for sure. Reminds me of the original Moby Dick movie when they were dumping buckets of water on Captain Ahab from above!
In Victoria here, crap is about to hit the fan in short order. The rain fall of over 30" is what is worrisome. Rainfall north of here will ultimately keep the floodwaters fed for 1-2 weeks with the rivers running through this immediate area. Just hoping for the best.

Be careful...the storm is bad enough but the tornado's and floodwaters are just as bad if not worse. I've been through a lot of hurricanes in my lifetime and had mandatory evacuations run us from our homes a few times. 20 to 30 inches of rain in two or three days is no fun. Praying for the best for my Texas friends and relatives on the Texas coast.
Here in corpus we lost some branches and shingles but were otherwise unharmed. We have been without power since 5pm Friday evening and it's kind of nice. The wind gusts were strong at times here in the city but we still slept well through the night behind boarded windows. Spent a few hours this morning raking/cutting branches up in my yard and the neighbors yard. Weather in town is nice and cool right now.
Well it's confirmed that Rockport got hit pretty badly, I have not yet heard or seen anything from Port O'conner, they are more isolated and cut off so I am not sure what to expect from there. Victoria is shutting off the water here at 4pm. I fear with the flooding to come over the next week or more that the water will remain off for days. Lot's of trees and fences down along with power poles, but nothing catastrophic from what I have seen or heard so far.
I have to say that the positive spirit and attitudes of the flooded people in Texas (as seen on Fox News) is inspiring. I know things down there are always supposed to be BIG, but this one beats all!
