92F350CC, most with no door emblems are 3.7 V6's especially these last few years. The 18 I've ordered with 5.0 is rare at my SoCal dealership. The fleet guys see only 2-3 a month. A sorry state of affairs here locally. Midwest is still big on V8's but ****head Cali wants us all to walk and quit farting....Green house gases and all.
Does anyone else realize that the only visual changes to the front of the '18 are the headlights, grille, valance, and bumper? The fenders and hood haven't changed at all from the '17s.
If someone wanted to change their 2015-17 to a 2018, it wouldn't really be all that hard to do, assuming the mounting points for the new parts haven't changed either.
That helps the '18 MY but if one looks closely at the '15-'17 MY's Ford never got the bumper shaped like it should have been. The bumper was just plain bent/shaped wrong.
I hadn't realized how bad the 15-17 was until I saw how great this looks. Outstanding.

Excellent points. It probably explains how they are producing 2017s and 2018s on the same line without shutting down. It all amounts to a few accessory additions to the production line. All the sheet metal, and all the running gear are the same.
However, I believe this is the first time Ford has completely changed every part on the face of the truck without new fenders and hood.
1978 changed the grill and headlights only. 2005 Super Duty changed the grill, headlights and bumper. They both still had the same sheet metal. There are earlier examples in the 50s and 60s too.
But you're right, this a a very mild restyling. Grill, headlights and bumper only on the front. Tailgate in the rear. Nothing in between. Not even inside as far as I can tell.

I had the same thoughts. Back in May when I decided to get a new truck, all they had were 2017's, they looked ok, but I wasn't overly excited about it. After searching for a month and a half trying to find a 17 with my desired options, I was about to give up, until I seen some pictures of the 2018's. That sealed the deal, and we ordered a 2018.
No matter what the price it would have tough for me to buy a 17. Too close to my 13 and I wanted the double injectors and a 5.0 that had the 10 speed. I'm still going to add the catch can first thing anyway. I checked out 3 5.2 Mustangs this weekend and they all had the Ford Performance ones installed. One had both sides. Look so stock I'm hoping in 5 yrs my Ca. emissions visual won't catch it. Build date in 8 days...
According to the blend number from the window sticker, it looks like my new F150 will be built tomorrow Sept 6th. It's an Oxford White Lariat with Camel interior. It has the 5.0 engine with the 502 package. Also 36 gallon tank, tailgate step and all weather mats. Cotus anticipates delivery on Sept 24th to Northern Utah.
I'm super excited as I have driven my current Lariat for the last 20 years and hope this new one is as reliable. The new one was ordered Aug 4th.
