Yes - Forescan is the way to go. I just got it installed on my laptop and hooked it up to my F250. WOW ! I wish I knew about it 10 years ago. Great tool.
I've been using the OBDLink MX for a while now. The only issue I sometimes have is when my phone tries to link to both the OBDLink MX and the truck bluetooth at the same time. It's gotten confused a couple of times.
If you want something to keep with the truck, look at a ScanGauge II. I've used one for years (the same one) on multiple rigs and it works great. Also provides four additional gauges when you're driving, which is nice to have as well. It isn't as useful as FORScan, but they're two different systems for different applications.
