I have a 1979 crewcab and need to install seat-belts. can anyone tell me if I can purchase the three point seat-belts from lmc and install them in the second row of seats? If not what have you done to rectify this problem, Thanks.
If you get the 3 point and the retractor goes inside the B pillar (like a regular cab truck) that might be a PITA. So get the retractors that are floor mounted like in a 79 Super Cab and then all you have to do it mount the metal shoulder loop (2nd point) on the inside of the far back "B" pillar.
I did not cut an access panel, just tied some small gauge electrical wire to one of the mounting holes and dropped the backing plate from the top. Once I got the other mounting bolt started clipped the wire and finished the install.
You can see how close the retractor and the free end of the loop mount to each other, I don't know if there is enough room next to the rear seat to fit them in.
