4.9L Inline 6

Will be moving over to Australia soon, would like to take my 96 f150 with me.
Was the truck inline 6, the 4.9L ever released over there? Ive done some research and all I can pull up is the 300's they put in cars, like the falcon for example over there.

Did some reasearch on supercheap auto, sort of like an auto zone place over there. They have my truck listed, but only showing options to buy parts for a 302 or 351.

Was it released over there? Can I get parts over there? Would like to know before I stick a zf 42 behind it and ship it.

No point in taking it over if I cant get parts for it. Tried to post in the aussie section with no reply.

I believe it was available in the older trucks over there. 65ish-72ish.

The only unique parts would be some engine related things. But it's nothing you couldn't just order over the internet anyways.

Also keep in mind that generally Australia requires vehicles to be converted to right hand drive. They do offer exemptions for LHD vehicles, but make sure your truck would get the exemption.

Finally found someone to talk to over there about it. Yes, correct they were in older trucks behind a carb not my EFI and were even used in dump trucks. I don't know why they would require right hand drive conversion as last time I've gone over there I drove both left and right side cars. All Fords over there are same side steering as over here. I've found a place to buy parts that are external like pumps alternators etc. But it looks too expensive for me to do. I'd have to rebuild it over here first then ship it as no engine parts would be available. I'm going to have to get rid of it, which is sad because of how much has been fixed on this truck. Like complete new ac new polyurethane bushings, steering box, suspension etc. It drives like brand new no wobbly play BS that is common to find in mine. Very sad about the whole ordeal. Thank-you for everyone who replied you gave new insight into things I had not considered.

I really wouldn't worry about if you enjoy the truck. There's really very little to go wrong. Just buy a few sets of plugs, caps, rotors, spare TFI module and you'll be all set.
