Slow shift at cold start???
Hey guys, my '92 Bronco w/302 and auto E4OD tranny has been doing this:
at a cold start, when I shift into forward or reverse it hesitates and slowly engages (the tranny acts like it was a manual and I was slowly letting out the clutch) after that, it works fine. Also, if it doesn't do it again unless it sits for a long while.
any clue what is going on here? This makes me worry I am losing power over the whole range, but just don't know it.
Hit me up with any thoughts!!

hey thanks, i didn't see that one in my search before i posted.
sounds similiar, except mine shifts fine except at the initial cold start.
anyone have experience with the solenoid on an E40D tranny?

Slow shift at cold start???
replace your tranny fluid and filter making sure that its full. warm the motor and tranny up and then see if it continues. if it does then your mlps solenoid needs replaceing. this is common culprit on the E4OD trannys
