I have a 2004 F-250 Crew Cab Fx4. And I ant to sit up higher but do t want to spend money on a lift kit. So I'm going to put bigger tires on it and leave it at that. How big can I go without having to take a sawsall to my front bumper, and not rub the tires every time I turn the wheel? I thought maybe 285s would be my best bet.
The stock tire on my 2006 CC are 275/70r18. There seems to be alot of room with those to handle 285's.
Also look at your front springs; may be sagging a bit from age. I put 6,000 lb springs on mine a few years back mainly to help with the plow. A stronger/new spring will help get rid of sagging at least.
