Hi all.
I'm new here, and hoping to get a bit of help.
I currently live in a 68' Mercury 350 custom motorhome, which is the Canadian version of the Ford 350 made into a motorhome. When I bought it I put on new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, condenser, and coil.
I headed out last week, drove maybe a mile and a half, and the engine quit. Checked under the hood, found fuel (bad accelerator pump diaphragm) and a melted rotor. So far i have replaced the diaphragm as it needed it, rotor, cap, coil, points, condenser, and put in a new ballast resistor for the coil in.
My problem is I am still not getting any spark..
I have checked/tested everything I can think of and I am still getting nothing.. I even pulled the ground off and cleaned the connection there just in case.
Can someone help me out?
Yes, I have tried that. The old power wire to the coil was pretty hard ( I figure it had gotten pretty hot a few times), so I ran a new wire from the battery to a switch to the coil to test everything.
I did a spark test off the old coil too, to see if it was working, I got a really weak spark, with the new coil I get nothing.
