Number Dummy seat decoded?

C5AE, The "A" usually meant full size ford, C5SE I think would stand for Tbird. But Ford used parts where they would work so who knows. The 80's P71 police cars had bucket seats that look just like those in my Fairmont, I bolted the front seats from a mid 80's Escort right onto the seat tracks of my 74 Pinto, the bolt holes were already there and ended up with recliners. Who would have thought?

1965 T-Birds used different bucket seats than Galaxie/LTD
1965/66 Mustang bucket seats/seat tracks/upholstery were also used on 1965/66 F100/250 Rangers (except deluxe seat covers w/running horse).
1966/67 Bronco's used the same seats/upholstery (except w/running horse), but the tracks are completely different.

1320stang Larry, I've just put bucket seats in my truck, and here's a few tips for you.
If you are looking for low back buckets, it may best to look for 1968 or some '69 Mustang seats, they will have seat back latches that make them safer. Most, but not all, '69 seats will have headrests. You will have lots of choices of seat upholstery for these popular seats. Left and right seats are not interchangeable, the frames are different.
Seat mounting brackets are available from copperstatecomponents.com
I was happy with these mounting brackets. $165 + shipping.
I had good luck with ebay for my seats, I bought a set on '69 Mustang Grande buckets and I felt I got a good deal shipped to my door. Craigslist is probably your best bet though. I tried to buy some seats, only to have the jerk sell them 15 minutes before my agreed-upon arrival, but that's Craigslist for you.
Putting buckets in my truck has not been cheap, I have spent close to $700 by the time I bought the brackets and seats with shipping. And that doesn't include any upholstery. It all adds up quickly.

Mustang bucket seats and the seat tracks are the same 1965/68 and 1969 without high backs.
The upholstery, foam rubber padding and 'hockey stick' mouldings on the outside of the seats are reproduced.
However, to install these seats, 4 special brackets are required to raise and level the seats. The brackets are reproduced.
The brackets bolt to the floor pan, then to the seat tracks.

I sure wish Ford had offered bucket seats in our Dents as an option, like in earlier years.
