Insurance called earlier and advised that it is totaled. The force of the impact caused frame damage and the motor got pushed back a bit. Told the adjuster to give me the buy back price just out of curiosity, though we will be taking the settlement. Really just don't have the time or the room to deal with parting it out just to make a few thousand bucks.

The adjuster is working on coming up with a value, which might be difficult for a similar spec Excursion. I have to submit my service records in order to help bump the value up. Will report back when the settlement is presented and agreed upon.

We are currently looking at 07-09 Lexus GX470s. Was looking at the Toyota Sequoia, but really like the looks of the first generation GX470... just a matter of trying to find the right one.

My wife's sister has the 2009 Lexus GX 470 and she hasn't had any problems.

My ex-girlfriend had an '06 GX 470. It was a nice, luxurious, powerful vehicle. Never had any maintenance issues with it either, just tires and brakes.

No, it's much bigger. Seats 7, but not comfortably. It's a Sequoia.

Buy it back & sell it to someone on the board for 0, 5 or 10%+ or whatever floats your boat.

Is a frame swap out of the question for the adventurous?

Hate to see that go to a yard or turn into a cube.

Sorry to hear about your loss, most importantly your wife is OK.

I'm sure this truck will be a nice candidate for a front end conversion, its rust free and looks to be nicely spec'd out.

GX470's are nice trucks and are reliable as hell.

glad noone got hurt in the accident sad to see another ex bite the bullet though specially since this one doesn't look as bad as some accidents i seen these in. if the cab and excursion part of the frame is still safe an only the super duty front engine part got bent couldn't you cut/unbolt the f250 part of the frame measure and get another good frame cut an bolt it up? i would imagen the bent part of the frame is the crumple zone and motor mounts are damaged since motor is pushed back

Was thinking the same depending on how badly the frame pretzeled.
No doubt someone with time and talent could graft the rear to a newer F250. Tim comes to mind, but who has $$$?

It'll end up at whatever insurance auction service Farmer's uses... I think the agent mentioned Copart. I'm positive someone will buy it, put it back together and then put it on the road with a salvage title or try and wash the title and get a clean one.

I received the first offer of settlement from the insurance company, though I feel it was a bit low, so I'm waiting to hear back again.

I'm sure it was low, have valid research, justify your thinking and settle when you get what you want.
