I have a 1999 E-150 and I have the codes (Heading / Code) R / K, Axle / 19, TR / U. In searching it appears the 19 stands for 3.55 gears(?). Any help would be appreciated. Is there a code for limited-slip?
H9 is the code for a 3.55 Limited Slip rear. The 19 does mean a 3.55 open in your case. U under trans is the 4R70W, R is the radio code or "what did the van come from the factory with?" My truck is a "5" for single indash CD player with radio and regular speakers.
If you check the tech articles section we list most of the codes in a door jamb sticker decoder. While it lists trucks, the vans follow most codes, we don't list the radio codes though. The radio may be different from a truck, anyhow, depending on speaker configuration (more room, more speakers).
Kerry, thank you for the reply, you have been most helpful! This is my first time to this site so thanks for the tip on Tech Articles. The radio in my van is a CD/Tape/AM-FM; there was also a code of HC with a heading of SPR (or SKR), I assume that is speakers, I will check Tech Articles.
I figured it was an open rear-end, I don't suspect to many vans are ordered with limited slip.
