Is anybody running a set of these? Any comments? How are they on the highway? Thanks...

 

I have a set of 34" x 10.50 Swamper LTBs on my 94 F250. These tires are unstoppable in the dirt, mud, and rocks. They are extremely heavy duty. These tires are obnoxious on the street. They are bias ply, and they flat spot. My set usually takes about 1.5 - 2 miles every morning to get the thump out of them. (Good thing I like my coffee shaken and not stirred!) Some mornings, they take up to 5 miles to smooth out. My tires were balanced before they were driven any- I think that they change their balance point as they warm up and smooth out. I have a huge shimmy at 40 mph. The shimmy goes away at 44 mph. I am going to have them rebalanced and hopefully that will fix that problem. These tires do grip well on both dry and wet pavement, and seem to be lasting well. I only have 2500 miles on my set, but the tread shows no sign of wear or scuffing. Above all, these tires are loud. People who ride in my truck wonder why a Cessna is flying directly over us all the time. The hum/howl is incessant above 10 mph. The tire noise easily drowns out my Flowmaster 40 with dumps. I haven't been brave enough to take these tires over 65mph. I rode about an hour at a maintained 60 mph and the tread didn't heat up at all. So why even consider these tires? They are awesome off road. Probably give a Bogger a run for it's money! Any more questions, feel free to contact me. -Jeremy
