Broken tube coming from EEGR valve

I was removing the upper intake manifold today on my 1990 5.0 and I forgot to remove the EEGR valve before lifting up on the manifold, and as a result I broke the tube that goes from the EEGR vavle to the lower intake manifold. How important is this part in proper operation of the engine, if I patch up the pipe and put it back together will I have problems, or is this a definite part which I should replace with a new one?

Thanks for advice

Broken tube coming from EEGR valve

If you live in an area with emissions testing that will be a problem . Im not sure how you are planning to repair it , but if that works then you shouldnt have a problem . I know you will hear lots of comments that say alter , remove , disable the egr system , but I think on a modern engine with leaner fuel mixtures that keeping the egr system intact is a better idea than removing it .
