Hope you enjoyed your visit to my neck of the woods. Been wanting to MC ride to circumnavigate Lake Michigan & stop in to visit a buddy in Iowa.
Is that really true? I could live with that, but I'm waiting for my F250 KR 6.7L to be built. My 2010 F150 FX4 5.4L has averaged 15MPG (calculated) over the 5-1/2 years (33K miles) I've owned it. OTOH, both of my V10 Excursions stayed in the 10 to 11MPG range around town.

F-350, 6.7, DRW, 4x4, 3:55. I am up to 14000 miles. My average since new is 14.7. I have done some towing, hauled the camper, drive on a couple 400 mile trips and a daily driver. mostly empty runs at around 75 mph. I hit trip 2 reset every 5000 miles to see if I get an improvement and my average since 10000 miles is up to 15.1. No complaints

I have a Platinum F350 crew short box 4x4 with 3.55 gears, unloaded at 70 it will hold 20 mpg with not much difficulty. Once I hook on my trailer and plug in the trailer lights, this thing might not even get 11, and even after I unhook it stays crappy for about 2 or 3 drives then it seems to go right back up again. Has anyone else noticed this? Oh and my trailer is not heavy at all 3750# empty v nose cargo trailer with 3500# tandem axles, 22' long. I have 7300 km(4600mi) on it so far.
Love the truck I just hope the fuel mileage is justifiable by weight, if I pull 15-20000# I expect it to burn lots of fuel, but it is similar in fuel economy to my 6.2L gas F150 while towing the same trailer, I expected better...

I towed my 3500lb equipment hauler flatbed trailer 2 hours across the state to pick up a 2007 Ford Expedition. I reset the trip computer and upon arrival, with most of the driving being 70mph highway, I had achieved 12.5 mpg. Virtually no wind resistance from the flatbed trailer.
On the way home, with the Expedition chained on and another 6k lbs of weight and wind resistance, I reset the trip computer again. Despite passing through a line of severe thunder storms and heavy downpours, we achieved 12.4 mpg on the same drive home.
In my experience...you attach a trailer and the mpg plummets. Doesn't matter if you are hauling a 40' enclosed trailer or a 12' utility trailer. I don't see much variation between loaded and unloaded.

Hauling a heavy 21K lb. trailer at Interstate speeds; 8.5mpg no headwind. It is a toy hauler and at 13'5" tall along with a perfectly flat backend that creates what us truckers call the Double V (vortex vacuum), it really does create a drag at high speeds. Off the Interstates, I have averaged 9.5 at my best w some stop and go mixed in.
Unhooked, I average a combined C/H 17mpg. I don't think that's too bad?. All my diesel pickups through the years have gone way up on HP & TQ, but along with this comes the sacrifice of slightly less fuel mileage. It probably would be way more of an offset, but more efficient fueling/burning technology has helped close the gap (somewhat).

Peaked at 18.3 on a short trip the other day after fueling up. It's now back down to 17.4 where it usually stays for my normal driving...this is on hwys with 55 mph limits and flat as a pancake. Towing the 14K pound camper it's anywhere from 9 to 10 mpg @65 mph on the interstate. Not bad mileage for a heavy truck.

I only have 575 miles on mine and I haven't done any highway driving. I've had the truck for almost a month now and just can't find the time to accumulate any miles. Most of the miles have been short trips to town and back with several hills both to and from town, the engine barely get warmed up. My truck is built with 6.7, DRW, and 4.10's. My current average mileage is showing 15.1 MPG.

OK. Maybe I need help here. NEW 2017 F-350 SRW, 6.2 gasser, 4x4, FX4, CCSB. 1,000 miles on odo. I drive like an old lady. Best mpg was 14.5 for 500 miles--all highway at 70 mph. Somewhat hilly, through KY. Typical mpg is mid 13s. I'm using the trip computer in the Ford, no trailering, no loads, all in 2WD mode. What do I need to do to see the numbers you guys are getting???
