Unfortunately, I'm still learning about these Bullnose trucks too. Do you want to swap in a completely different transmission, or do you just want to know what other Ford vehicles have a C6 that will work in your truck?
I'm wanting to swap for a completely different one sometsomething with more gears hoping to save more gas really this is the first truck I've owned that only had three gears lol
The E4OD is 4 speed automatic with 4th being an overdrive, and it has a lock up torque converter for better mileage.
However, it is an electronically controlled transmission (the "E" in "E4OD") so it needs a computer to control it. MSD and others make stand-alone controllers.
The E4OD is a 4 speed automatic. This swap would be cheaper than a Gear Vendors unit. E4ODs were installed in the OBS Ford trucks, so finding one wouldn't be hard.
FWIW, I've heard only good things about the GV units.
Oops, not quick enough.

This topic has been discussed at-length on this and other forums. Yes, you can swap the C6 with the AOD or E40D to add an overdrive gear. If you're looking improve your gas mileage, you won't notice hardly any change at all and the cost of doing the swap will likely never be repaid to you in fuel savings.
There are things you can do to the C6 to improve power and gas mileage, but they, too, can be expensive, especially if you're not doing the work yourself. Replacing the thrust bearings with needle bearings is one of those such improvements. The thrust bearing is basically a spacer (like a large washer) between the drums that absorbs the thrusting movement of the parts when you hit the gas. Obviously a friction plate is not a very efficient way of handling this thrust as the thrust bearing doesn't rotate with the parts. Changing this to a needle bearing will allow the parts to still thrust together while allowing the parts to continue rotating uninhibited by the friction.
Also, upgrading the throttle valve body with a modern shift kit can also help improve shift points, increase lubrication, and decrease wear.

Reason: throttle body -> valve body
Without a lock-up convertor, the c6 will always be handicapped in the fuel mileage department.
Be advised Ford never put the AOD behind the 351w except in a few cars. If you drive like you have some sense though, it would probably work ok and does not require a computer and a bunch of wires like the E4OD does.
