MBRP 4" PLM exhaust on Excursion

Wanting to run a straight pipe exhaust on my 2004 6.0L Excursion. Would the MBRP PLM Series 4" Turbo Back Exhaust fit around the rear gas tank, etc.? Thanks for the information

If you currently have the stock exhaust, I'd do a downpipe back or cat back exhaust.

When I got a full 4 inch Flo-Pro system, I lost low end power on my truck stock and tuned (hot too). No matter who's tunes I ran and/or how hot I tuned the FICM (Econo, Atlas 40, Atlas 80) the bottom end spool suffered along with my fuel economy.

After talking to the engineer who wrote the software these trucks run on, he mentioned that unless I plan on racing my 6.0, the best option for spoiling was the stock downpipe and exhaust.

To that end, I bought a diamond eye 3.5 inch downpipe and installed it. As soon as I did, my turbo spooled night and day better and over s few tanks of fuel, my fuel economy recovered nicely. Turns out he was right on the money

There are also fitting issues with the 4 inch down pipe. The stock and even 3.5 inch downpipe fit much better.

I run a 3.5" DP with straight 4" exhaust and it fits nicely.

Diamond eye does but you'd have to check a few FTE vendors. Exhaust companies make more money on full systems than they do the cat back systems so they tend to push the full systems more than anything else.

Diamond eye also makes a turbo back system with a 3.5 inch downpipe

Will running the diamond eye exhaust without a tuner throw any codes?

There are no sensors in your exhaust that could cause a check engine light. Your pcm will be none the wiser.

Final Question. Bought the 4" straight pipe turbo back exhaust from diamond eye. Looking to delete the cat as the system calls for reinstalling the old stock one. Where can I buy a replacement? Because it asks for the stock cat I should be able to get a cat delete for the stock exhaust, correct?

Seeing as you have a diamond eye exhaust, they make a cat delete pipe that goes with their kit. My exhaust ended up as a 3.5 inch until it was past the passenger side front door. From there it's 4 inch back.

If I had my truck, I'd take a picture of it for you, but it's sitting at one of the laziest transmission shops I've ever seen.

I saw that they had that, it doesn't look like it fits for my kit (K4352A-RP) they also sell a cat delete pipe for the stock system and it (my kit) says that it's designed to have the stock cat reinstalled.
