Intake Question...
Can someone let me in on the difference?
I have a K&N replacement filter in mine and you guys are worrying me with all this talk of "dusting" and trashed motors not under warranty.
And what exactly is dusting?
Thank You
I called the company up and the owner happened to answer the phone..
I asked him how many of these setups he has sold and if he has ever got a call back on any K & N set up.. Because, I told him that I have heard nothing but complaints about the K & N conical setup.. He told me that he has never ever had a call back on any
K & N air filter ! No complaints or refunds or credits.. As far as he knows every customer is satisfied. He sells alot of K & N products
monthly. Its one of his best movers..
Mykro, I don't think a retailer is going to share negative experiences about there product with a customer, especially if they think you are going to share it with others.
K&N's don't work as well on a turbocharged engine because of the added force into the engine. A lot of folks have had problems with dust getting into the engine. It's simply not worth the risk, and the Tymar and AFE flow more air anyway. Cummins specifically tells you NOT to use a K&N filter on their diesel engines.
Mykro, I don't think a retailer is going to share negative experiences about there product with a customer, especially if they think you are going to share it with others.
Thanks
Will the Tymar or AFE element fit onto the existing tube supplied with the K & N setup? what is the I.D. of the elements??
Thanks
Is the tube a 4" tube? A lot of people have done the do-it-yourself open element intakes that copy the Tymar setup. If you have 4" tubing you just need a clamp and a filter. I would recommend getting the clamp that goes around the filter element that has 2 feet on the bottom. It keeps the filter from actually resting on the fender well.
