2008+ Towing Mirrors: extended length?
For anyone who has the 2008+ towing mirrors on your rig, wondering if you could please provide some measurements (or pictures with measurements?) from side glass to outside edge of mirror when they are fully extended?
The stock drivers side towing mirror on my 2003 gives decent visibility with my camper loaded. But the passengers side one doesn't extend far enough -- I'm basically stuck looking at the front edge of my camper, and can't see behind me at all on that side of the truck.
Am willing to upgrade but would like to see some actual measurement numbers to confirm they will meet my expectations, and I'm not just throwing money away.
TIA.

Velvac sells replacement mirrors commonly used on RV up-fits of C&C cutaways, or when adding bus bodies. I see these almost daily on Ford bodies that a local company uses to for private shuttles at a major training center I live near. Usually 2011+ F550 truck bodies, they're massive:

I have 18" from the window glass to the outside edge of the mirror glass on the driver side, 17" on the passenger side.
The reason for the measurements being different is the passenger side mirror (housing and all) has more of an angle towards the truck, this is because you sit on the opposite side, the only way to fix this (factory wise) is to order a driver side mirror for a Super Duty from a place like Australia.
Stand in the back of your bed and look over the cab at the mirrors and you will see the angle difference between the driver and passenger side mirrors.
