Does anyone take their trucks through the automatic car wash? Not the touch free gas station wash- I'm talking about the places where you can choose which wash you want basic up to full service. I'm going out of town tomorrow and taking the wife's car so my truck will be in the garage for the next week and I like to leave it nice and clean however don't have the time today for a hand wash...
The staff at the one I take my wife's Armada to say it will fit however I can't recall ever seeing a Super Duty go through one of those washes...
I also take my plow truck through (2006 F350 cc) with the Western plow horns still on.
Only problem you may have is if your tires are too wide for the car wash tracks. I have 275/70r18 (stock size) and they fit ok. They could probably take 285's
I drive mine through the wash all the time. I have 285's and about 2.5" of lift in the back. They were a little worried it wouldn't fit the first time, but they record plate numbers at this one so they know it fits now.
Awesome...thanks everyone. I'll take the Super Duty for a wash tonight...like I said- this place does a really great job on the Armada but I've never tried taking the SD through. My roof will thank me- it often gets overlooked during hand washes...
my dually only fits in 1 automatic car wash and yes it is at a gas station but you can select 3 different car wash types.
you approach what looks like a garage door, put your pin in , drive it in and stop when the red light comes one.
you get presoak, wash, wax, spot rinse, and they light comes on and you go thru dryer.
this is the only wash that works becuase there are no tracks.....and with no tracks..dually wheels can go thru.
does a pretty good job on the first time thru....but once you go on a regular basis...the wax keeps dirt form sticking and the truck becomes easier to clean.
9 bucks for regular wash, 13 bucks for full blown super wash.
especially useful in the winter time since up north if you hose your truck in the winter...your going to have a snow pop.
