While waiting on some new fusible links for solenoid that broke off while chasing the battery drain , I started cutting out some of the bed area rust , drilled out the front panel as it was very thin and had some holes
as does bed floor,,did clean up body tag but unsure if it means anything

Well I found out what was draining the battery as it was my own stupidity , as when I installed the amp meter an electric oil gauge from Auto-meter as they make top quality , I had supplied battery voltage instead of only power when ignition is on , this leads to a battery drain , so had to pull gauges anyways and the under dash mounted stereo , as I have to drop heater box again as the fan motor internals shorted to ground , , of course it had to wait til I put 4 or 5 gallons of anti-freeze in since I installed a new heater core a month or so back , , of course at that time a few months back the motor tested good and figured it would be all good , but no its got to come back out , I should have replaced for the mere fact it was original but then again my stupidity came back into play and I did not ,,

Well bought this 92 truck for the bed floor , found a rock solid long bed floor, going to use it in my 79 f100 short bed build , this should work great,,just got to cut the area I need out, looks like it will work great ,,plan on welding in a floor back in the long bed enough to support any load it is used for and put bed liner back in it an resell since its a running driving truck , may not get what I paid for it but should be cheaper than buying a new floor ,,and I dont mind the work,,hope to get the floor installed in by next month and then get bed quarters patched around wheel wells and get bed ready to paint when weather warms up ,,got another project waitinbg in the wings,, just bought a 72 duster , going to pull the 340 out of my challenger and install in duster and get it painted ,,then building a 440 for the challenger,,going to be busy for awhile

72,
Your truck is coming along very nice. Thanks for taking the time to document the work along the way too! I enjoyed reading your build thread. You have put so much work into this project!

Chris

So far only difference for bed bolts in crossmembers is the width distance from my measurements , of course the long bed had one extra crossmember but not an issue to remove ,Then the length for bolt holes front to back are the same , so crossmembers are the same place but floor bolt holes from the side are different , they off an 1/2" or better for bolts holes to line up , my 79 from side seam to bolt hole is 7" to center of hole , but the 92 is closer to 7 1/2" or more , just have to weld up old bolt holes in floor an drill new ones , something to watch before I weld in the one crossmember I had to use off the old floor
