HELP!! Really Stuck Distributor
I just purchased a 1978 Ford F-150 4x4 with a 351M. The timing needed setting so I went to adjust the distributor. She wouldn't move. I have tried soaking it in PB Blaster, heating around the distributor, you name it. The top has broken off and all I have left is the shaft. What can I do to get this thing out.????!!!??
Please help.....very frustrated.....
Thanks,

The only thing different was that I took off the radiator hose and so the distibutor soaked in antifreeze overnight and then it came out. I don't know if that is what did it or why. Maybe a combination of everything.

Thankfully, I had the day off today to fool with the thing for more than a few minutes.
A crow bar, PB Blaster, a torch, a drill, some more PB Blaster, and a shanknut wrench. It turned freely and I was able to pull it out with my hand. By the time I was through, I had 3 pieces to the distributor, but it was out.
What really let the PB blaster work was I drilled out a hole in the base of the distributor flange so that the lubricant could get past the dried up o-ring.
Thanks again guys,
