Tach. thread?

I'm considering putting a Tach. in my 76 F100, it has a 302 w/ 3 speed on the column. I'd like to see what you guys have done, thanks.

I installed a tachometer i got from autozone with the help of a friend in about half an hour. The gauge is ziptied around the steering column with some double sided tape underneath the mount, (did it this way cause i really didnt want to drill into the dash) and its very stable and easy to see when driving. We also installed a switch for the backround light on the guage to turn off so it doesnt kill the battery

I've had an AutoGauge tachometer for over 15 years that still works great. Be aware that there are Chinese knock-off's of the more popular brands if you don't order from a reputable supplier.

Yeah, I bought it even cheaper from O'Reillys. Of course, that was 15 years ago.

No pics...but mine is in the same location but at the 1 o'clock position. Using a large worm clamp painted black to hold it to the steering column.

Yup. Still going. The needle is a little faded and I've had to replace the backlight but still works great.

I don't care for them being on the steering column.

If somebody made a cool mount for the column that didn't involve a hose clamp and exposed wires, I'd be all over it. Until then:
