Just recently my truck will not start on the first crank and may take 3-4 before it will turn over. It will crank but it will not idle high enough and just die and after a couple tries it will start and I'm ready to go and it acts fine. It's very inconsistent and doesn't happen too often but it's annoying. Had a few people tell me it's probably a sensor. TPS or something or other. Anyone had an issue similar to this and can help with some advice? No othe known issues at all. I have changed the fuel filter recently but this problem didn't happen directly after.

Idle air control valve dirty or bad.At least pull it and clean with carb cleaner.. Could be tps but I doubt it.
To test put your foot on the accel and give it a little.... while cranking that will simulate the IAC being open...Give just a crack.
The IAC controls all the idle the throttle plate is basically closed on fuel inj vehicles.
Thanks for the advice. I'm looking for the IAC now. Is it attached to the throttle body? I do see some type of module attached to the throttle body with a plug and 2 screws holding it on. Can't find anything else? If it is it, it will be a pain in the *** to loosen those two screws to get that module out.
There is one large (5/8" maybe) hose on the IAC. It comes from the intake snorkle. The IAC is located on the passenger side towards the back of the engine. It's a PIA to get to, at least for me it was. There are 2 bolts holding it on. They face the firewall. There is a pic of it on this site somewhere.
