I know this has been gone over many times but I am new to the site and can't figure out how to contact Crystal directly. I just bought a 2013 f250 with the 6.7. The very next morning I noticed a puddle under the drivers side bumper. I notified the dealership that I bought the truck from and pretty much got a "sorry about your luck" response. Just like everyone else they say I can buy the warranty (which sucks, 36k miles for 3 grand) or I can pay the repair bill which they say "starts" at $1200. The salesman is a friend of mine and is stuck it a bad spot but I can't believe that a person can buy a $40k used truck and just be forgotten about! I need to know the best avenue to get this corrected and fast.
Thanks
Will Powell
Sounds like you bought the truck "as-is." That means if it breaks in half right after you sign the papers, you own both halves.
There may be avenues if there was misrepresentation, but that is hard to prove. And may not be the case here.
The best available path? If they will actually sell you a warranty and cover a repair for what is now a pre-existing condition, that might be money well spent. If you are going to pay 1,500 for the repair anyway, you are getting the rest of the warranty for 1/2 price.
Or just pay for the repair and cross your fingers for the future.
The main question I would ask at this moment is if the dealership you bought the truck from is competent to service it. If it is, and especially if it is the best choice in your area, play nice and build a positive relationship with the service department.
Most states have a law which gives you as the purchaser the right to return a vehicle purchased from a licensed dealer within a certain time period. Google your state to see specifics.

Look for dealers that sell the Ford ESP online before forking over cash to this dealer. Usually less than half price what the selling dealer will try and hit you for.
