Where to start, so I purchased a 26 gallon fuel tank from a 2012 f250 diesel to use it on my truck project, the tank came with all mounting brackets except the sending unit, so I need to get one in order to mount this thing in my truck, so my question is? Do the 2011 to 2016 diesels have an in tank fuel pump or is it like the old ones 05 and up that have the sending unit and the pick up tube and fuel float as an assembly with the fuel transfer pump on the frame, I'm asking this because I called a few places already, and they all tell me that 2011 to 2016 have in tank fuel pump, which to me sounds wrong, if someone could answer this question for me, I would truly appreciated.

 

based on what I can find...

external fuel pump... for 2 reasons...

no pump on float assembly
no high pressure fitting on float assembly.

Yes, many parts counter guys do not work on trucks/cars. ( not these days )

 

If you search through the posts on this forum, you will find many people not satisfied with the 26 gallon fuel tank. Why would you settle for a smaller tank, why not find a larger capacity one?

 

I'm using this tank for my project truck, and this 26 gallon tank is the only one that I found that will fit the limited space that I have in my 6.0 project.
