Last night I showing him how to adjust the points. When I had him start it up, a shower of sparks came from the connection that is on the starter to the solonoid.
I'll be looking at it today, but was hoping someone here could give me some ideas. Is it the starter? The cable? The solonoid? Or.....???
But first, take the connection apart and clean it. If it's sparking, it has built up corrosion or "carbon" deposits from the arcing creating resistance. Clean connections will help.
