Love hate relationship/exhaust filter overloaded

First 11,000 miles on this 2015 F-350 6.7 diesel was a love affair last 2,000 miles I hate the damn thing it has been in the shop three times in the last month. Exhaust filter over loaded drive to clean. Will not clean while towing a load gets to limp mode. What do I do leave trailer on side of road in order to regen and then go back to pick it up?

How many miles? Sounds like you need a new rocket ship to go under your truck.

Are you by chance towing at high elevation in hot weather? This sounds like a familiar issue. How has the truck been driven prior to towing the trailer lots of short trips. I know these may sound like silly questions but the answers important.

my recommendation...check the oil wt chart and use the thickest oil allowed.

use a fuel additive like opti-lube, they lube the fuel pump but also boost the cetane to provide a cleaner burn...less soot

next, use an oil by pass filter....they remove down to 2 microns...less soot for your DPF to catch.

last problems were towing in high Temps and 3000 to 7000 elevation, daily driver before trip haven't had any problem until late last 2000 miles, when I do tow and I set up, the truck is used as daily driver, I tow a fifth wheel trailer.

It's a shame that these steps should have to be taken on a low mile engine that's a $9k option on these trucks.
Is it just the idea that I get from reading the forums or are today's diesels ultra finicky? Not trying to be a wiseguy, it's a legitimate question.

my understanding..

EPA....
Gas EPA devices are 40 plus years old.. well proven
Diesel EPA devices are only a few years old at best.. not proven.

a few years ago... looking into the 2500 class trucks.... the EPA stuff on diesel put me off. as a retired auto mechanic..
Yes I worked on many Oldsmobile/Buick diesel cars.. (350ci/5.7L)

Oh God!!! I remember hearing about those diesels grenading left, right and center. If I'm not mistaken, that particular engine easily made a lot of GM technicians of that time rich, as well as accomplish the feat of turning nearly everyone completely off of any diesel engine ever again, offered for passenger cars. And that's only to name ONE of a few monumental failures for GM that has put them where they are today.

Circa 1980-1981. The dreaded 368 cu. in V8-6-4. Oh yeah, I remember those too. The HT4100 that replaced that engine wasn't any much better too.

You definitely got something wrong there if you only have 13,000 miles. You don't by chance have a tune on your truck do you......? If not then it needs to go to the dealer, something is malfunctioning under there. If you are tuned and running it with the DPF on, even though they say the tune is "DPF safe" we see that around here all the time.

High temp and altitude towing the 15's there have been some issues with this and the dpf. The temporary fix was SSM 45270 & TSB 15-0124 not sure if they are still valid or not.

I have the same set up as you. I also tow a 34' 5th wheel and I use cetane additive from Ford when towing in the mountains. If your truck goes into regen than you cant shut it off. I found out the hard way and mine set a 500 till shut down warning on the dash. If you get the warning when you get to the place where you unhook your trailer than dont shut off the truck and take it for a spin. Another thing I do is when I get done toeing I let the truck run for about 10 minuets to let the turbos cool down. I also only use FULL synthetic oil in my truck. I dont understand buying the blended oil. It's not a 50/50 mix. That may help with the soot problem because I dont have a problem towing at elevation.
