Saw the Titanic last week, interesting story on how they found it. A unknown back story that has been declassified so it can be told now.

RMS Titanic found by Dr. Robert Ballard and his fellow researchers from Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute on September 1, 1985. It was announced to the world the next day.

80Cal reminds us not to forget Dr. Bob's colleague from IFREMER; Jean-Louis Michel.

What they didn't announce is how they learned to find it, when searching for the U.S.S Thresher, and U.S.S Scorpion, That was the secret mission and the search for the Titanic was only allowed if they had the time and money left over. They Found the Titanic by learning from the subs not too look for the ship but look for the debris field first.

The Thresher, after it sank, was photographed by the USN using the bathyscape Trieste. Ballard photographed it more closely to verify the reactor wasn't leaking.

No one knows to this day what sank the Scorpion, speculation is that it was sunk by a Russian submarine, but the USN has never admitted that this is fact.

I don't think I'm going to make it, so don't wait to start eating.

I'll be home, but have to leave for Ohio early on Monday. Think I'll take care of business here at the Pounds Compound.

Y'all have fun.

Was great to see everyone today and catch up on activities, jobs, & Fords!

A few photos taken during our delicious breakfast this am.

Left to right we are: Sharon, Keith, Sean, Brian, Justin, Bill and of course our photographer, Aidric.

Bill, I'm still drooling over that beautiful maroon color'd Fusion.

A few more pics with our mouths full.

I'll need to add some artwork for today's G2G; needs more than an egg and hash browns.

Thanks Justin for the use of your Ford easel.

So long as it is comfortable and allows easy access, my back hurts REALLY REALLY REALLY PHUQUEING (sp?) BADLY right now and any vehicle I use necessarily must be able to accommodate that...

@NumberDummy are you around??
