I sure get the itch for a new one. Mine is not a daily driver and at 80k miles and no rust still has lots of life left.

I have added a nice nav head unit with back up camera and other upgrades. That does help the years go by. But there is no arguing that the newer trucks are much nicer than the older ones. I have been lucky though. Twelve years and no issues whatsoever. Part of me is worried a new one might not be as trouble free.

I am 54 (today) and my next truck may be my last one if it's as good as my previous 3.

Waiting now to see how Godzilla turns out.

My 04 has 230k on it. My 00 has 260k. My 1986 has 353k, we think. All are solid trucks I'd jump in tomorrow and drive across Texas.

You're worried about 106k miles?

I think nowadays a properly maintained truck can easily get 200k miles. It's the itch for new that does people in.

If I recall properly, you are in the sweet spot for V10s. Earlier 2V had a lack of spark plug threads and a habit of loosing a plug now and then. Right around '03 they "fixed" the 2V heads giving them more threads for the plugs. Then came the 3V, which is why I went with a 6.2. I still have regular contact with the folks that bought my '03 E350. That 2V V10 is north of 220K and running strong. You have a winner. KEEP IT.

I would get one on there. A flying little stone could nick that polished shaft up.

Did you add leather seats or do any other refresh? I did a leather Katzkins seat job and new carpet set on my 2008 and it helped for a new look inside.

124k miles just broke in. The seat probably still hasn't been properly worn down.

I'd keep it, my 2001 Excursion has 545K on it and my '05 has 240K on it. This platform is easy to maintain and doesn't cost a fortune to fix when/if it breaks. It's nuts, bolts, and not too many electronics.

If it isn’t a daily I would just hang onto it.

Its actually about to be a classic I would keep it inside and be enthusiastic about keeping it. There is a couple trucks I wish I never sold myself.

So you drove 18,000 miles in 4-years (4,500 miles/year). At that rate you'll be at 200k in about 16-years. I think you're good for a while!
