93 IDI clogged Injection Pump? Sat 3 years, fuel out of return line, but none out of injector hard l
So my 1993 Ford 7.3 IDI 4x4 with the E4OD has been sitting for 3 years, it has been sitting because it needed a new transmission, BUT before sitting it Started up easy and Ran great!
I found a parts truck for $500 with a good E4OD, I got the new transmission installed.
Soooooooo, tried firing her up, no go, checked schrader valve, got fuel there, unscrewed all 8 hard lines from the top of the injectors, no fuel out of any of them.
With key in On position I have 12volts at the Fuel Shutoff Solenoid, and I can remove and hook it back up while the key is still on and I hear and feel the click it makes each time, so im assuming if you hear it click, then its working.
I tried removing the fuel filter, and adding a can of SeaFoam, but then I was cranking every couple of hours to get it into the Injection Pump.... not realizing that it was going out the return line.... So I might have to try that again and crank it just enough to get it into the Injection Pump and then let it sit....
I removed the fuel return line from the top of the injector pump, and fuel comes out of there steadily when I am cranking.
Was just wondering if there is anything else I can do, like taking the Injection Pump apart and cleaning something? or possibly using compressed air at one of the fitting on the pump to break through?

Now its all coming back to me, you can see from my posts they are 7 hours apart.
I had fully charged batteries, I also plugged in the block core heater the day before trying, so the block was nice and warmed up, I could feel the radiator and feel that it was warm.
I precharged a new fuel filter with seafoam. I tried cranking and cranking but ended up running the batteries down.
I figured out that the pump was just pushing it back to the tank through the fuel return.
I took the filter off and precharged it with more seafoam, cranked it a few times so that the seafoam made it to the pump.
Put the batteries on charge again, and several hours later did cranking over and over again, this time it started.
After getting it started I felt confident that it was that the injection pump was clogged so I got some Power Service Products Bio Kleen, Diesel Fuel Biocide (I let it sit in the tank per directions, might have been days, don't remember)
This is all from memory, this was actually YEARS AGO, truck still runs today.
I should also point out that if your truck sat 2+ years (my truck sat 3 years) you could add some fresh diesel to the tank with the Diesel Fuel Biocide. (go get some in cans if you need to)
