I have been looking at parts and finding that the 78-79 ac driers and lines on factory installed systems, seem to have a few variances, one is offered as a drier that both in and out ports exit at bottom, the other is one drier port is on top one on bottom. Was there a SN break, year break, or anything I need to look for while looking for replacement parts?
This doesn't really answer your question, but I recently overhauled the AC in my 79. It had a direr with both ports at the bottom. They are still cheap and readily available. I had planned one reusing the still line connected to it, but it has a weird fitting on the opposite end that didn't jive with modern common fittings. I just tossed it and replaced it with hose.

apparently so, I was looking into new lines and wondering what lines would fit what drier, seems clear now. Thanks bill. I have seen only 78 models with this different drier and hose routing and condenser, 79 models had the "both at bottom" but I have also seen 78 models like so, 78 must have been a configuration for what date or what plant or what ?????? causing a configuration for atleast 2 components that were different. I believe I can move forward now with the "both at bottom" hoses, drier, and condenser. Thanks again.
