P/S housing has D1TR (1971) casting number prefix: Ford/Saginaw P/S .. 1971/72 for sure, possibly 1973 also.

Casting numbers are foundry marks, cannot be cross referenced to Ford part numbers.

It is a Saginaw made in 72 from the date code D2, August I believe. The engineering ID code is 71.

D2 is the partial part number or ID engineering number or casting number prefix for 1972.

If D2 is the month/year code: April (D) 1972 (2).

A = January, M = December, the letter I is skipped.

You guys are amazing, I was needing to know the year in case it needs to be rebuilt. I swapped this in place of my manual gearbox on my 69 F100, it was a perfect bolt in !
