Trouble adding refrigerant to a/c system

2004 f150. Replaced compressor, accumulator, orifice tube, manifold lines. Added oil to compressor. Used vacuum pump. Vacuum held. So.....first can of refrigerant (with UV dye) went in. (yes, purged air from yellow line prior to connection). Can went cold, condensation. Had it on a scale to determine when empty. Closed off gauge lines to connect 2nd can of refrigerant. Purged air from yellow line again. Opened blue valve. But this second can did not seem to go in. On the scale it only dropped a few ounces and never got cold or condensation like the first can. The compressor would turn on then off the entire time. Ambient temp was 90 +/-. Had the controls set to max A/C and fans on high, all doors open. The temp from the center vent remained at 80 +/-.

Finally, turned it all off. What steps do I take from this point? The can of refrigerant is still connected. All valves are closed. Any advise is appreciated.

You can raise the RMPs (around 1500), you can warm the can by placing it on a safe space on the engine in line with the radiator fan air flow, or wrap it with a hot wet rag. Use an extra fan to blow air on the condenser and help it cool down. Lastly, you can turn the can upside down and raise it above the hood while the RPMs are raised.
