John, just banged up for now but they are keeping an eye some extra fluid in her abdomen. That is why they are keeping her for observation.

Pretty much. Fortunately there were about 75 witnesses to the accident, who all were at the retirement party for a coworker that she was going to. It sounds like the other driver was not paying attention. Just wrong place at the wrong time.

That's good there were witnesses, but probably not going to help her financially..

Hopefully she can make out OK and not have any hidden medical issues from it

I hope that is the case too. She is in her mid 30's so nagging injuries would not be good.

I was just looking at a picture of it from the wreck. She got hit passenger side just right of center. Folded the rear corner and crushed the "D" post (rear) and the hatch door. It was a Hyundai Santa Fe.

Very true Don, but back injuries at any age are not good. So far no mention of that but she is in a lot of pain.

It was lucky it was that side.. She would have been banged up more if it was Drivers side.. Could have been some serious injury

Still the impact was hard enough to split her seat. I guess the speed limit 45 where this happened but it sounds like the other driver was going faster than that.

They probably were to do that amount of damage..

I am sure you have seen enough accidents over the years to judge what happened by looking at the after effects

That I have. As my wife was telling me about it I was envisioning in my mind the scene.

Personally, I have seen much worse. At least they did not have to extricate her out. Sounds like the only reason why she was not able to get out on her own was the seatbelt locked up which they are designed to do.
