I have an 88 f150 with the 4.9 straight six. I am getting an intermittant trouble code of 29 which is for the vehicle speed sensor. When I check the code manual, it says that it is found in the transmission. When I check my Haynes service manual there is nothing mentioned about it in the transmission section. Looking on this site I see a lot of people talking about the VSS on the rear diff. I know precisely where this is, but I am not sure if this is the one I should be concerned with. When I start up the Rear ABS light comes on and goes right off again as if there is no problem. Also, I have failed inspection for the rear brakes locking up. I have changed all lines, rotors, drums, springs, wheel cylinders, shoes, etc. (the brakes are brand new from the pedal out). Anyone have any thoughts?
