Manifold Bolts

Nice!!! Just had the warped manifold replaced because of 2 broken off bolts. $1200 later all is good.

Thought I got rid of that issue when I traded in my V10. Didn't realize I would still be doing this with the 6.2 with only 48K miles.

Maritimes Canada. Don't think it's referred to the salt belt though. Truck is hardly driven in the winter.

My manifold luck just keeps following me.

does it see much time on sand near the water....

sea salt is very damaging... and the sand it loaded with it..
I learned that last Winter... South Texas on my motorcycle... even the FOG is salty 80 miles inland.

You are not the only one that has manifold problems following you around! My 2014 F350 w the 6.2L is at approx. 49,000 miles and is at my Ford dealer having both left and right exhaust manifolds replaced as I write this. Started noticing carbon tracking/slight leaks when cold in a few spots about a year ago and this was all documented by the dealer. I did not have broken hardware to cause the leak they both just started leaking at the gasket sealing face in different areas. Both are being replaced under warranty as the powertrain/emissions warranty is 5yrs/60,000 miles. I knew if I didn't pursue this now it was not going to heal itself and then I would be paying for it myself after it was out of warranty. I'll give you an update when I get the truck back later today.

2014 6.2 left side is leaking bad at 44,000 miles.

My GM 6.0 was bad about this and the bolts were known for breaking, was hoping Ford would be different...

I had to replace the right side on mine at 93,000 miles about a year ago. The gasket blew out in the front, no broken studs though. I went ahead and replaced the manifold for good measure. I bought a doorman with gaskets for $74.00 to my door from rock auto. The doorman manifold looked just like the Fomoco one except they ground the Ford part number off. I took me almost 4 hours to do.

Picked my truck up last night. Two new exhaust manifolds, gaskets, studs, and nuts. And also a new serpentine belt tensioner and idler pulley as the tech did not like the sound he was hearing so both were also replaced under warranty. I'm glad everything was fixed but at ~48/49K miles it is disappointing to have all of this happen with such low mileage!

I thought the 6.2 was prone to manifold failure?

+1 on the dorman. I bought one for my bronco and it's a quality piece. Had hardware included. Very nice. I also looked at rock auto's price which was a helluva lot cheaper even with shipping. Unfortunately I had already bought mine local. For a whole lot more.

Update!!

Just drove 2000 miles to Florida from eastern Canada. Happen to hear the engine on a cold start yesterday, now the drivers side manifold gasket is shot!!!!! I guess pulling some of the Pennsylvania/Virginia grades found a weak spot.

Hope the Florida Ford techs have some experience replacing them. Taking it in to the ford dealer near The Villages.

That is where I am, if you don't like Key Scales you also have Village Ford in Belleview.

Sucks these manifolds leak, I get tired of hearing them leak everyday.

First I have heard of a 6.2L breaking exhaust studs. Broken exhaust bolts are common on GM LS's in trucks, but they are very easy to replace in the truck.
