Pull the front sheet metal off for engine change?

Left intact bolted to the front sheet metal. Is it as easy as it sounds? Sure makes the engine swap sound easier.

I too would like to know the once over for removing the "dog house". Ed on wheeler dealers made it look easy.

Then it must be true!

It involves removing the connections at the running boards to the fenders; at the frame to inner fenders (on 48-51's, at bottom of inner fenders); at the firewall/cowl; removing the radiator; removing the nuts from the two radiator saddle springs underneath; disconnecting all wiring for the front end and engine; disconnect heater hoses; remove the hood. Lift the whole works up over the front frame horns then forward.

so the radiator comes out first, not with the rest of the sheet metal.

You can leave the radiator in the saddle, probably want to remove the shroud if you have one.

Did my engine removal by pulling the complete front clip. Put 2, 2x4's across the bed rails and flipped the clip upside down on them for storage. You need two strong bodies minimum, 3 is better.
