Short Trips, Bad?

Whats the deal with short trips and a diesel engine? Is this bad on the engine? and why?

its bad on all motors just more so diesels.this is more true with dieals because they need heat and compression to run. If the motor doesn't warm up till operating tempeture the pistons expand a little and then shrink back in a small period time distroys your rings pistons and anything in the combustion chamber. also it take awhile to charge you're batteries back up after starting it glow plug take a lot of juice. plus it will destroy your glow plug controller don't use a diesel for a daily driver unless its running for a while and you really nedd to haul someting every day it costly and a waste of money to operate a diesel like this.
