Well I'm tired of looking. The second thread there "About the guy that heard noises and demanded the dealer address it" (20+ pages long), is a poster child for what NOT to do to your dealer. "Call them every 24 hrs, demand to be witness to their disassembly, etc". That can easily get you a 3 week delay on any repair. Just because you hear noises, doesn't mean its Broke. Drive it, don't worry about the noises. If it dies, Ford will tow it to the dealer and get it fixed.

I still can't see where anybody there that has real problems with the Ecoboost and Ford can't fix it.

You need to keep reading. There are wastegate problems, misfire / shutter (fixing with the weep hole), and cam phaser rattles. These are the same issues the gen 1 ecoboost was challenged with.

93Cobra is most likely known as Sasquatch on the Raptor forum. They love him there too.

It's as I thought after reading some posts. Most of those guys are dropping big bucks to mod those trucks when they're brand new. Replacement intercoolers, exhausts, tunes+Forscan, etc.

That is most definitely not the case. The engine failures and misfires are on stock trucks... same issue all along on the ecoboost.

Did you even bother to figure out that the raptor ecoboost is also a totally different motor than the f150 ecoboost?

Yes, and that is what is sad. The same inherent design issues are carried over with crap intercooler and poor oiling for the poor cam phasers. It is a shuttering, rattling nightmare.

i really shouldn't make this post, However,

I agree. I don't see what he posts now except when someone "quotes" him. However. I never saw a comment on the 2 other forums where he owned any of said vehicles, but he sure passes out info.

I wonder why Ford hasn't gone with a water to air cooler in the EcoBoost engines? Seems to be working well in the 6.7L PowerStroke, why not trickle down into the smaller engines? Could be for gen 3 EcoBoost?

Why? It is true and all ecoboost owners and potential buyers should know this. Why hide it?

It's a bunch of bovine excrement on what you are spewing. When Ford redesigned the F150 for the Aluminum body, they also addressed the intercooler issue. On top of that the 2nd gen EcoBoost engines have fixed every issue the first generation had. Port injection to help with any coking of valves. Timing chain and cam phaser redesign, etc. Sure new problems could still arise with the redesign. But to say these have the old flaws is a bunch of crap. Even people on the Raptor forum are calling you out on the bs.

Nope - ford TRIED to address it AGAIN and failed AGAIN. The misfire still exists because ford can't figure out how to get the intercooler either to not make condensate, or how to safely get rid of it to atmosphere. The 3.5 ecoboost is a complete joke because of its inherent design flaws. Prove me wrong and show me that there are no issues. Look at the 2017 Raptor... owners are finding the engine to be a dud. They have condensate misfires, and rattling cam phasers already. Look for yourself.
