I don`t think there is a lot of difference between Bell and Shaw.

You should be threatening to cancel home phone, internet, cellphones and just about everything else over year or so. If you are paying anything close to advertised price, you are getting ripped off.

We swapped our cellphones over to public mobile and pay $35/mo for each now, with MORE data than before.

I checked them out. The prices are way lower with more. I wonder about whose cell towers they use. Too bad they don't seem to have a we will buy out your existing contract if you move.

They use Telus towers, so same reception as Telus across Canada. There's a few "catches". 1 is that all their cheap plans are throttled to 3G speeds (not 4g), 2 is that you cannot purchase a phone through them so you need to own your phone or buy one outright elsewhere and 3 is that they don't have stores, or any support phone line to call. Assistance is through an online forum and most answers are provided by other users NOT staff.

For me, it's been a great trade-off. The slower speeds haven't bothered me, I can surf the web if I want, and I have WiFi most places I go anyway.

If you want to learn more, get me to refer you and I think you get a credit on your first bill.

I'm off to Invermere this weekend to help get the other vacation property ready for the summer season. Seems like it's going to snow in cow-town this weekend, so I'll miss that. I'm sure my wife will be plenty annoyed by the time I get home.

Well, weekend weather was much nicer in the mountains than in Calgary. Got out for a hike near Banff Friday at Sundance Canyon. Then had a little bit of a sunset show across the lake saturday.

I love the mountains. Any time I do a vacation, I always want to point myself west. I'm really lucky to have access to that place in Invermere. Sure couldn't afford my own place out there. It's enough of a struggle to afford one home, let alone a spare.
