no power no headlights
I came back from work to find a completely dead truck. No power, no radio, no headlights. I cannot jump the truck to start from the solenoid.
Nothing else has changed. I have a strong battery and power to the solenoid. I have cleaned the grounds. Nothing.
Fuseable link seems strong and firm no flimsy like i read it is when it fails.
He could have shorted something.
If the solenoid was replaced, did it get properly grounded, meaning was any grime or paint cleaned off under the mounting feet, and is it right side up?
Is the cable to the starter connected at both ends?
Did he miss the one or 2 smaller gauge wires with the ring terminals that should be on the battery side of the solenoid?
Did one of the battery cables or it's connection to the battery fail? You can read full battery voltage with no draw but have it drop to near zero if the connection has high resistance.
The rebuilt starter from Autozone I put in the SuperCab had to be whacked on the pavement and tested several times before it spun although it did draw current before breaking loose.
