We have our first long tow next week, and or longest trip with ANY rv to date, we will be heading out Tuesday for Virginia City, with a 2 night stop in Lone pine to visit Whitney portal and Manzanar. The first time we will have any rv, trailer or motorhome out of state.
Sitting in lone pine for 2 nights, but here it is all hooked upbefote we left. So happy with the truck, and the fox 2.0 really helped the ride.
next to our friends F150 that is traveling with us.
I love this truck, towed effortlessly it never touched the brakes on the downhill grades the exhaust brake worked wonderfully. I did test the adaptive cruise once, turned off tow haul and the EB, the Adaptive cruise (ac) will apply the trailer brakes if needed. Averaged 13.4 mpg. Only burnrd 1/4 tank between home and Lonepine, went ahead and topped off. Another 1/4 tank betweedn Lone Pine and virginia city.
Historical cemetary behind rv park, view from our cam site. More Lances from our group, Fords are 2 to one roughly. Mostly F150. Next is Toyota.
cool deal! all the tech and whatnot they are putting into consumer trucks now days, i wonder what the apex will be... heck load wise they are knocking on medium duty trucks doors.
new trucks are cool, i do enjoy when i get to drive a newer vehicle, but at the end of the day i enjoy jumping back into my old rattle traps.
One of the reasons new trucks are so expensive is all the gadgets they pack them with. no offense to anyone buying a new truck, but I'll stick to the 93-96 PSD pickups.
Here is the count of types of TV's we had.
There were 26 rigs and a cabin. I counted 16 Fords, 6 Rams, 3 Chevys, and 2 Toyotas. I think out of the 16 Fords, we had 3 superduty 1 f350 with a TC.
the shocks worked great, still trying to dial in my W/D hitch a bit to reduce porpoising, yes I know this truck doesn't need a W/D hitch for my TT but I like the added anti-sway security.
