Replacing dipstick tube

Has anyone ever had any luck replacing the transmission dipstick tube with the engine in? The tube in my 2000 is broken.

If it's just the tube pull it out and replace, removing the passenger side IC pipe would leave you with alot of working room.

How did you make out with replacing the tube......I have the same problem. Did you get your replacement part from the dealer or elsewhere?

I replaced my tube about 3-4 years ago. Got the new tube from Ford, and it works perfectly. It's not really the tube which is problematic to replace while the engine is in the truck.... it's the tube mounting flange arrangement on the oil pan which is difficult and sometimes almost impossible.

Tranny dipstick tube isn't one I had thought would break. I replaced my oil one when I put in new Orings on the flange but never looked at the tranny tube.
