I like the big shiny wheel look. Then again, I did grow up in St. Louis...Guess it's where you are from. Me though, I still have the 17 stockers with the shiny center cap...lol. I would like to get some 20's or bigger, but I'm definately keeping the 17's for winter! You roll on spinners during the winter down here, the road salt will get in there, and then you're not spinning at all!

IMHO, do whatever floats your boat. I personally don't like the big wheel look, but that's just me. I would rather add 4-6" and fill the wheel wells with real tires.

Actually, in "Truckin'" Magazine a couple of months ago, there was a guy who had a Super Duty, lifted it 12", and added 24" wheels with 44 boggers. Now that looked awesome!

Hmm, I didn't realize they made 44" boggers for a 24" rim. I couldn't imagine the cost of those either!

Seeing as the larger SUVs are mostly built on truck frames............an SUV is a Truck............They just look different and have different names.

My personal criteria for vehicular judgement is not SUV or TRUCK, it's 4x4 or NOT.

I personally do not like the BIG, FAT rim look, I would rather have BIG, FAT tires.

I can not tell you how many times this past winter I saw the clowns with the "dubs" and streets stuck in the snow (even those w/4x4) because they were plowed in whereas I just pulled right out without even a blink of an eye. AND I only have G/Y Wrangler ATS.

Ok, 24's with 44 boggers would look "phat".

I guess it depends on what you use your truck for. I have an EB and would never take it off road. It's a 4x4 because of the rain, snow, and other things Cincinnati has to offer. I wish I didn't need the 4x4 because then the 24" rims would be much easier to manage (have to re-program the transmission/speedometer).

I think the big rims look really nice, doesn't mean I'm going to start a post about how stupid I think the 15" rims with 60" tires look. I live in a town that's a little too close to redneckville for me and we always joke, "My tires are bigger than yerz is"

I guess there's 2 sides to everything. I know it creates a rough ride, I know the tires are "useless" for off roading, neither of which I care about. I know the tiers are $2,000 for a set of them but I like the way some 24's on Lorenzo's chop. As someone earlier said, to each his own.

The same could be said to the people putting performance mods on an expedition - you're never going to make a 5,000 lb truck fast, expecially with the superb aerodynamic capability displayed by our lovely ford engineers. I'm going to put an exhaust on mine just to make it sound mean.

^^^ I'm with you on that Adam, 90-95% of the 4WD vehicals on the road today will never see anything more challanging then a gravel road, wet or snow covered pavement.

I have also seen quite a few tricked out lifted trucks that will never see the rain, let alone an off-rod trail . . . how could they justify the ill handling, no braking, bouncy ride and poor performance on road . . . simple, to each his own.

BTW, I was 'lucky' enough to witness what a slightly lifted and modified '02 Excursion 4WD, 7.3L PowerStroke Diesel was able to do to a couple of Mustang GTs . . . the Excursion was running consitant 13.6 1/4 mile runs @ 98 mph!!!! The GT drivers were not laughing any more!

Well 20's on a truck is cool and that is what I prefer.
I read some of you guys says how unappropiate the 20's are and you use a "real" truck for what it was meant for. Well as I see it 20's are used for what they are for, just to look nice. Now if you ride a lift kit and the monster truck tires, you probally don't do jack with your car but ride the kiddies back and forth from the mall. I see both of these kinds of trucks alot, the 20's cool the monster truck never ever ever ever seen any signs of one actually that has been taken off road. In fact most of those lift kit trucks are chrome plated underneath, now really what is more stupid chrome rims for chrome underbody.

Comes down to what you like, let people do their thing.

Everyone here seems to think that big dubs on a truck looks stupid. Personally, if it is done right, it looks really cool. I like the sport truck, or sport SUV look. A high performance truck would be sweet to own. Everyone can have their own opinion on what looks cool, and what doesn't, but just remember that what looks cool to you, make look retarded to your neighbor. Just remember that next time you rip on someone else's pride and joy (their vehicle).

It obviously has a BIG market!! If we're seeing them more often than not. Whether we like it or not I wish I was the one selling them those big rims.

I personally don't like the big rims. The more tire the better it looks!!

What the hell is a "dub?" I realize it's obviously a term for big wheels, but what's the origin. Sorry, I'm not too up-to-date on my ganster rap.

Some of you guys (possibly gals) are way too sensitive. Just because some don't like monster chrome wheels doesn't mean your feelings should be hurt.
