The grille w/the blue oval emblem is 1982/86, but Ford replaced the 1980/81 grille with this one in 1982 for use as a "service part replacement."
So, because of this, you cannot go by the grille to ID what year the truck is. If it isan F100, it could be a 1980 thru 1983.
1980 VIN composed of 11 digits, 1981/86 VIN composed of 17 digits.
Certification Label glued to the left door face below the latch. Has the production date printed on the upper left corner, the VIN and etc. codes printed on it.
VIN plate with the VIN stamped on it located on the left corner of the dash, visible thru the windshield.
Compare the VIN on the tag to the VIN on the Certification Label to see if they match.

I was just going by it having F100 emblems, the lack of hood letters or hood letter holes and the 82-86 grille. That's what led me to believe it was a 82 or 83. But on anything this old you can never really know for sure if it's been wrecked or repaired just by looking at pictures.
So without the Vin# or manufactured date it's just a guess.
