Question 460 head modification

I'm curious. Is it possible to have to big of a valve put in a 460 head, as long as there were no clearance issues? I mean would it help or harm performance to install like, Cobra jet valves and do some porting work? Is bigger, better, in this case? A guy owes me, and has a set of new swirl polished CJ valves, and he wants to put them in a set of 460 heads for me, do some port work, and a 3 angle valve job. I think the valves are around 1.97/2.25, or something close to that. They are going on a new rebuild that is balanced, comp ratio around 9-9.5:1 with new hyper u pistons, and a .487/.504 cam, new Stealth intake, and holly 750.
The block is a 86, and it's all going in a 86 F250 Ext cab 4x4, for pulling a 8-10 thousand pound trailer, and a bit of off road playing.
What do you guys think?
Chuck

I think the valves were Stainless Steel Valves (2.300/1.880).

Your going the wrong direction if you plan on pulling 8-10K lbs.
You need to maintain high velocity at low RPMS which means a MILD RV cam with small ports and valves. For towing open up the exhaust ports, for racing or building bigger HP numbers open up both intake/exhaust
Your going to have to decide wether you want a hotrod or a workhorse truck for pulling...they are two different animals

Thanks Deen. That's what I was thinking, but wasn't sure, and wanted some confirmation on the subject. I'll let him pay for the balancing of the rotating assembly. I'm taking it to the shop today. It's been taking a while to get all the parts and work done on the engine, and other ideas from my original game plan keep popping up in my head. Ok, I've got my self-control back and am back to the game plan. Thanks again.

Great Chuck, let us know how it all turns out.
2.30/1.88 valves would have been WAY too big for a tow vehicle...that is the same size I used on my 514 c.i. drag engine.
