Dear Lord, brand spankin' new '04 Escape, had the thing a whole week and somehow there's a bloody scratch on the plastic trim behind the rear wheel! How in God's name do you make that go away?
Thanks all.
Hey there StangMan! I've used a crayon filler that you can pick up from a home repair center that carry's canets, counter tops and such. It's a good filler and comes in a multitude of colors. It's easy to apply, since it's just like a crayon. It is made for filling in scratches on the tops and doors of lamination, but works well on plastics.
Don't sand or scrape the area, as you can tell, it's not user friendly. To remove the high spots on the outside of the scratch, I would use a warmed exacto knife. If you can work the high spots, back into the scratch with the warmed blade, you may be able to get it close to original. For blending the area, I would try a 3M scrubbie. A light scrubbing should make it pretty close.
Good luck and get back to us. Talk with you later....
