Vapor Canister Missing
I bought a 2006 F250 SD with a 5.4. I got a deal that I felt was too good to pass up. The truck isn't without issues though. I'm slowly fixing them as time allows. I have a constant CEL and finally got around to pulling codes today. One code was related to the evap canister. Knowing that these trucks have issues with clogged or dirty lines. I went to investigate and much to my surprise the whole thing is missing! My questions are, does this affect overall drivability? Or is it simply to aid in pressure regulation when filling the fuel tank? The truck has a slight hesitation when accelerating from a stop or idle and occasionally the dreaded "wrench" lights up on the dash. I checked pricing to replace the canister but I feel like $250 could be better spent elsewhere.
