I recently bought a 2001 f-150 supercab shortbed with 36000 miles. After buying it I did the usual k&n cold air intake and a flowmaster catback. The truck runs fine but ive noticed lately that it will be way down on power. Most of the time there is no problem, but then you leave from a stoplight and you almost have to mash the pedal to get it up to speed. It dosent miss, it idles smooth, and there is no check engine light on. It's a 5.4 with a 4 speed auto. any ideas?

Well, if it started doing that after the K&N and the Flowmaster, then I would start undoing those mods starting with the latest one. You need to find out which one is causing the problems. Drop the stock air filter back in and take it for a spin to see if the problem still exists. If so, put the K&N back in and disconnect your exhaust pipe from the cat. Take a noisy drive around and see how much power you have.

Hi rosco_p_coltrane and welcome to FTE 
I would also check and see if the MAF needs cleaning. The oil from the K&N can get onto the MAF wires and then it attracts dirt and makes for no power.
